The Kent State FTC Qualifier will be held at the Kent State University on February 2, 2024.

Brief Game Description
The main scoring mechanism for this game is putting “pixels” on the “backdrop”. The pixels are hex-shaped game elements that are placed on the field by the human players. For a futher description of the game, see the PDF linked below.
The matches take a few minutes to score. There is typically a match between the end of one match and when the score is announced for that match. For example, the score for match 1 will likely be announced following match 2. Occasionally, the score is delayed due to a conversation with the referees. Look in the Qualification Match Results for team 19778 to see our match results.
Competition Structure
The competition day starts with 5-6 rounds of randomly paired matches. After that, the teams pick alliances starting with the highest ranked team. This will form 4 alliances of 3 teams for the elimination rounds. These rounds are a four alliance tournament bracket. Each elimination round is best 2 out of 3 matches. The winning alliance wins advancement spots 3 (captain), 5 (1st pick), and 7 (2nd pick) in qualifying for the Ohio State Tournament. Other advancement spots are given based on judged awards.
